1cupsliced ginger(more or less to taste, I like a strong ginger flavor so the more the better in my opinion!) (I do not bother peeling the garlic first)
6qtswater(plus or minus to fill pot)
Place ginger and bones in an 8 qt pot. Fill with water and place on high heat.
Bring the broth to a boil then reduce to a simmer and cover.
Simmer for 2-6 hours (the longer the better).
Remove from heat. Skim off any foam that collects at the top with a spoon then drain the broth.
Pour into glass jars to store in the freezer or refrigerator.
Tip: To drain the broth, I place a colander in a large bowl. Carefully pour the bone broth into the colander. The colander will collect the bones and ginger, allowing the broth to drain out. Easy peasy!
